Mt. Top Members----come one, come all----you are “toadily” encouraged to participate in the February T.O.A. D. Project. What’s a T.O.A. D. you ask? It’s a Treasured Object Almost Done ----definitely NOT to be confused with a Trashed Object Abandoned in Despair. Dig out TWO (not three, as previously noted) unfinished projects that you need encouragement to complete----bring them to the February 18th general meeting. You will show your TWO TOAD’s to the guild, telling us a little background on each (such as when you began the project, what kind of quilt project it is, why you haven’t gotten “a round tuit”). The entire guild will vote on the TOAD you are to complete by the February 16, 2009 meeting.
Those finishing their TOAD will get a reward and will participate in drawings for GRAND PRIZES. The only penalty for not finishing a TOAD is banishment from the 2008 Royal Order of the TOAD (by order of the Queen)! TOAD support groups are encouraged!!! |
The challenge is over and the results are in!
See who TOADally finished their projects!
Kay Denny, the T.O.A.D. Queen, explains the challenge to the new members of the group.
Sharon Andrews turned her strips on a hanger into a bagello quilt for her husband. He doesn't like it!
Linda Marley finished this paper pieced Double Wedding Ring quilt and pillow shams.
Linda Perry completed her One Block Wonder quilt, and Gwen McNallen machine quilted it.
Jeanne Vick finished quilting her large Star Quilt.
Jackie Tillotson models her finished raw edge quilted jacket.
Julie Dodds wasn't at the meeting, but sent her finished Christmas applique quilt to the meeting via a stand-in.
Kristi McHugh (who had a stand-in last February) finished hand quilting her friendship quilt from a Colorado mini-group.
Rosalie McDowell finished the embroidery and assembly of her Umbrella Sue Quilt which will be sent to her daughter when it is finally finished! Rosalie gets kudos for doing most of her project though!
Ann Novak completed her Puzzlers charm quilt as requested by MTQ members. She also finished one of her other T.O.A.D. projects not chosen....an applique quilt made from four blocks she got on e-Bay.
