Mountain Top Quilters will present "Everybody's Hometown Quilt Show" Friday
and Saturday, June 6 & 7, 2008, at the Yavapai Community College Gymnasium,
1100 E. Sheldon Street, Prescott, Arizona.

The hours of the show on both days will be 9AM-5PM, with a $5.00 admission. There will be hundreds of beautiful quilts to view. There will also be a larger-than-ever Vendor's Mall and a Quilters Boutique with many handmade items for sale, including a wonderful vintage quilt.

Special activities of the show will include our "live" Small Quilt Auction on Saturday at 1PM where some of our members' best work will be showcased. A Quilt Turning will be held on both days where you can relax - and see and hear some wonderful quilt stories.

Community Quilts (our community service activity) will display their recent "Scrap Bag Challenge" quilts - all made with exactly the same scrappy squares. These quilts will be distributed to those less fortunate after the show. A lite lunch will be available for purchase on site.

Our own "Leaf Symphony" Opportunity Quilt (tickets are still available - you may view it on this same Web page) will be awarded at the close of the show. We hope to see you there!

Carol Miller is quilt show chairman for this year's event. Requests for quilt show information
may be sent Here.

Leaf Symphony,  Mountain Top Quilters' newest opportunity quilt, is now being shown at
quilt shows and other venues throughout Arizona.  It will be raffled June 7, 2008, at the
Everybody's Hometown Quilt Show at the Yavapai Community College Gymnasium in
Prescott, Arizona.  Tickets are available for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

Many MTQ members helped make this beautiful quilt, either by doing applique, piecing
blocks or donating fabric to achieve the varied color ranges of the leaves.  The outer edges
of the quilt are covered in numerous "prairie points."

Linda Marley, Pat Folsom, Audrey Jessee, Udean Helton, Kristi McHugh and Phyllis Sager comprised the opportunity committee.  They assembled the pieced leaf blocks and selected color placement of the leaf elements as well as assembling the quilt top.  The center
block was appliqued by Carol Hood.  Vera Burns appliqued all four of the border vine stems.  Kay Harlan, Julie Dodds, Barbara Merkel and Sharon Heilman each appliqued one of
the leaf borders.  The four acorn corner blocks were appliqued by Evelyn Russell,
Joyce Cummings, Sally Becker and Barbara Phiel.  The resulting work was enhanced by Gwen McNallan's exceptional machine quilting.  The prairie point outer edges and other finishing work was done
by Pat Folsom, Evelyn Russell, Linda Marley and Carol Miller.
